FFF Diva Update: Who, What, Where, When, and Why?

Hello FFF Diva Fans and Followers!

I HOPE YOU ARE ALL HEALTHY DURING THIS COLD SEASON!!! : )

I know, it's been a very long time since I last posted a blog. I plan to write more detailed and extensive blogs, but here is a quick & dirty (it's a saying) update:

1. I successfully finished my first marathon on my 25th birthday! On March 21st I completed the Los Angeles Marathon with my sister & cousin. More details to come.

2. I got sick for about two weeks in March, and so missed a lot of Operation Boot Camp. Because of this I withdrew myself from the 90 day make-over your body competition. Even though I didn't win, I still feel like a winner because before I withdrew I found out I lost 2% body fat and gained 6 lbs. of muscle! I plan to dunk in the hydrostatic water tank again soon to see a progress update since my marathon. Stay tuned!

3. I was forced to take an unplanned vacation from work to use my paid time off, and so my sister and I visited El Paso, Texas (and Santa Fe, New Mexico) for about two weeks. It was a nice break, especially since my boyfriend also recently broke up with me too. More details to come.

4. I still have a running goal to run 1,010 miles in 2010. I ran 84 miles in January and other 84 miles in February, however being sick in March really held me back. Time to get back to the running groove. DailyMile needs to be updated!

5. I ran a 10K in Santa Cruz this past weekend! It was wet & rainy, and ended at the beach! Photos to follow.

Anyways just wanted to say hello and hope we can all keep in touch and motivate each other again!

All the best,
FFF Diva Mo

FFF Diva Operation Boot Camp "Biggest Loser" Competition: DAY 53

Day 53...

Hello FFF Diva fans and followers! As I am writing this post I am realizing it's been quite some time (that's an understatement) since I wrote a post about my competition progress. I guess lately I have been trying to keep up motivation by posting motivational/inspirational videos and advice instead. Haha. Anyways below are some bullets of accomplishment halfway through my 90 day competition:

1. I ran a 5K race in January (about 45 minutes) and a 10K race in February (1:36:19). Ran the whole time during both races!
2. Fastest mile personal record is 12:17 (achieved in December '09). PR in January 13:10. PR in February around 12:45. Let's see how I do with my PT test this Friday!
3. Since the beginning of the competition I lost 2% body fat and gained 6 lbs of muscle! AMAZING!
4. I kick ass in multiple ball glow in the dark (boot camp is at 6am) soccer! REALLY. NON-STOP MOVEMENT.
5. I ran on the treadmill for 9 minutes straight at a speed of 5.0. Almost averaged a 12 minute mile. Will try again soon!
6. I have a goal of running 1,010 miles in 2010. Last month I ran 84 miles. So far I have clocked in more than 120 miles! It would have been more, but I got sick. Will catch up!

Here comes the LENT: What I am ADDING TO MY LIFE...because I am sooooooooo busy. Boo.
1. Sleep at least 7 hours a night
2. Sundays are reserved for ONLY family day
3. read at least 3 books for pleasure

At the beginning of the body fat competition:

Current photo during the body fat competition: 2% body fat loss, 6 lbs muscle gain

MY PERSONAL HAPPINESS: My new boyfriend Tyler...(long distance in So-Cal, while I am in Nor-Cal)

I am definitely looking forward to the rest of the competition! LIFE is AMAZING! I can't wait for the L.A. Marathon (26.2 miles) on March 21st! March 21st = my 25th birthday! Way to celebrate!

More regular updates to come...

Dedicated to your health,
FFF Diva Mo

An Update of Sorts

Hello friends and family,

Just wanted to give you all an update about our progress for Leilani and I recently...

First and foremost: Thanks for all the support regarding our quest to be on the NBC show The Biggest Loser, however we are asking politely to not ask us about our progress because we won't tell you. We don't want to jeopardize our chances, so thank you in advance for not asking. : )

Other updates:

Leilani joined Operation Boot Camp with me! Yay! 6am outdoor cardio is always the best. Please keep encouraging Leilani to attend! She recently was diagnosed with asthma, and we are monitoring her while she exercises, but we don't want it to prevent her from success!

Leilani hosted a fundraising scavenger hunt in downtown San Jose. She was able to raise almost $50 for her $85 registration for the San Jose Rock n' Roll 1/2 Marathon in October. I already paid for my registration, but Leilani wanted to fundraise! Please support her cause.

Plate to Plate Race 5K Run/Walk in San Francisco is the last Sunday in August. Leilani and I are participating! If you want more information please check out the website: http://platetoplate.org/. You would be supporting the non-profit Project Open Hand.

We have become icons at the gym with our pink and jeweled FFF Divas shirts ("Fierce, Fat, Filipinas" soon to be "Fierce, Fit, Filipinas"). People have been requesting shirt orders. It's really flattering. Pictures of the shirts soon to follow. They are great because they have our names on the back and have our goal weights. For example: Leilani 150 and Maureen 155. If you are interested feel free to ask us.

Until next blog,
Mo and Leilani ^_^
